DOWNIEVILLE — November 2, 2026. Sierra County says its November 3, 2026 general election is an all-mail ballot election and that no conventional polling places are designated. The county clerk provides in-person ballot return and accessible voting at the Downieville courthouse.
Courthouse drop box hours
The official drop box at 100 Courthouse Square in Downieville is listed as available Monday through Friday during county hours, and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For exact drop-box hours on another day, consult the clerk’s current election page.
How to return a ballot in person
The county Elections Office is also at 100 Courthouse Square and lists Election Day hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The county describes accessible ballot-marking equipment and arrangements for voters needing assistance, including curbside voting.
A changed drop-box location elsewhere
Sierra County says its Loyalton-area drop box moved to Sierraville School under new legislative requirements. Do not rely on an outdated list of return locations. For questions, call the county clerk at 530-289-3295.
